At a glance

- Access: Coastal road; Benji Landing is easiest
- Best time: Calm, low-swell days
- Best for: Quiet, Snorkeling, Scenery
Overview
Conch Bar Beach runs along the north coast of Middle Caicos in front of the small settlement of Conch Bar. It's a very different kind of beach from Grace Bay: steep dunes and limestone cliffs, with the Atlantic breaking offshore.
The drama comes from the geology. Not far off the beach, the edge of the Caicos Bank drops from shallow water into thousands of feet of ocean, so this coast feels the swell far more than the sheltered beaches of Providenciales.
On calm days the water is crystal clear and the snorkeling is excellent. When the swell is running, swimming and snorkeling aren't safe, but the surf makes for a spectacular view.
When to go
Check the conditions rather than the calendar. Calm, low-swell days are best for swimming and snorkeling. North swells are more common in winter, so summer often brings calmer days on this coast.
Middle Caicos is quiet year-round, so you'll rarely share the beach with many people.
